Larayah, Larayah
The nemorivagant
I wonder if it could be
The reason you love the woods so much
Is because they waken a memory
Of a time before time
Before the waking dream
So you've reminded me
Larayah, Larayah
The nemorivagant
Who wanders the forest by day
Finding a skull, or carapace
A dead body yet alive with decay
A reminder of death
In the ocean of life
Our bodies are just the same
Larayah, Larayah
The nemorivagant
Will you wander the woods at night?
Being called by a song to follow a path
To see them beneath the starlight?
And your fierce blue eyes
And your curious hand
Will be softened in softer light
"I am destined to them,"
Says Larayah dear
Knowing the body remains
When soul takes flight
To forest home
"They feel like home," she says
Many songs are sung in the forest, by birds, by deer, by poets and maids.
Some can be heard, but most cannot, not individually, though their collective melody makes for the forest symphony.
Here will be transcribed just a few of those songs, in language comparatively rough and crude.
